Cornwall is still lovely, I have a new house and a new garden and lots of beautiful walks from my door. There are worse places to be locked down. Blessings to you too. Some packaged arugula will have to suffice for me.

We in central Ohio are certainly with you in spirit in Cornwall (if that's still where you are). We are hunkered down here as well. I look forward to seeing your new offerings unfold during our privation. Your voice is so welcome online.

Stay well and here's to blessings during the coming Easter season.
Mary Beth XXOOMary Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03443994462169750739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559862206054673677.post-27402726527067893362017-06-29T22:59:37.782+01:002017-06-29T22:59:37.782+01:00Is five years too long a gap to reply? Probably, but busting to impart my little bit of knowledge (with the proviso, that obviously I could be very very wrong)... the diminutive of rabbit is coney, and the diminutive of hare is bunny! So the Easter Bunny is a hare, even if we think it is a rabbit. ...Yum! I love the ring, and the use of cardamom.

I made the saffron buns again this year for Santa Lucia day with my friends. I learned a new trick from a blogger names "Joe Pastry" where you roll out the "snake" of saffron dough for each bun as usual but then use a rolling pin to flatten it out so it looks like a thick ribbon. Roll into the "s" shape as usual and bake as usual. the curly parts of the buns stay much prettier. Fun! I went to university there as did all my family. My mother was born there and both my parents lived there until they died so I do know it well but strangely I have never felt at home there. I love to visit and I enjoy all that you describe but for some deep and unknown reason I have always felt a stranger there. I feel more at home in Barcelona, isn't that odd? But I love the mystery this suggests, why some places feel they are in our blood and others remain forever outside us.
But I have said that if Scotland becomes independent then I would be sorely tempted to go and live there.....but perhaps in the Highlands where I do feel truly at home.

Do unknobbly artichokes exist?

love Kate xthecatalanwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14705509300995127135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559862206054673677.post-45700804517399465992013-11-25T18:50:37.727+00:002013-11-25T18:50:37.727+00:00Thank you, another marvellously informative post; ...Thank you, another marvellously informative post; I do enjoy reading your blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6559862206054673677.post-49190684621111360512013-11-17T09:32:29.032+00:002013-11-17T09:32:29.032+00:00I know!!
